German Harmonica Museum
The German Harmonica & Accordion Museum houses the world’s largest collection of historical artefacts and documents relating to the rise of the reed instrument industry in Trossingen and elsewhere. In addition to social and historical developments, the exhibition naturally focuses on the instruments themselves and their design.
The Hohner Collection is of enormous cultural and historical value. It contains over 25.000 reed instruments from all over the world and has been systematically curated to offer a unique perspective on the history of the industry. No other industrial product reflects the changing spirit of the times and contemporary history as well as the harmonica, with its colourful and creative packaging.
In addition to documenting the development of the entire family of reed instruments, the permanent exhibition also covers the history of the harmonica movement, which at its peak included several thousand orchestras and ensembles.
