Santiago Alvarez (Argentina) is dedicated to tango and argentine folk music. Originally from Buenos Aires and with 20 years of professional career he brought a new voice to the music of his native land. He has recorded several music albums and toured extensively in Latin America and Europe performing with numerous artistic proposals (“Tanino duo”, “Chucara trio”, “Vuela Chiringa”). His first soloist album called “Domingo” was released in 2019 featuring historic referents of Argentine musical tradition.

He also dedicates himself to the teaching aspect of music in recognized institutions of Buenos Aires giving courses in the art of the harmonica (EMPA) and also in the history of argentine music. He is also aiming to spread worldwide the Argentine way of performing the chromatic harmonica giving workshops in his every year tour to Europe. In 2023 he participated in Hohner´s “Harmonica Masters workshop” in Trossingen, Germany giving his “Argentine Harmonica” workshop.

In his 16th Europe Tour in October/November 2025 Alvarez will focus again on his first love, the tango, bringing the European public his new ensemble that mixes the sound of the harmonica with piano and double-bass.
